Advertising money should mostly reach the people who earned it.
That sounds obvious. It is not how the open web works. Nasrev exists because we thought the gap between those two sentences was worth building a company around.
Where a dollar goes on its way to a publisher.
An impression is typically bought and resold three or four times before a brand pays for it. Every company in that chain keeps a slice for work that is mostly passing the request along.
We got tired of not being able to answer a simple question.
Ask most people in this industry what the fee is on a given impression and you will get a pause, then a range, then a caveat. Nobody can tell you, because by the time the money arrives it has passed through four sets of books.
We could not fix the whole industry. We could build one exchange where that question has an answer, where a publisher knows what they are giving up and an advertiser knows what they are buying, and where neither has to take our word for it.
Everything here follows from that. One hop. One fee, written down. No inventory we did not source ourselves.
Company
Six things we won’t do.
Most companies publish what they promise. These are the ones we have deliberately given up, which is usually more useful to know.
One fixed percentage, disclosed before you sign, unchanged without your agreement in writing.
Every publisher and buyer on the exchange has a direct relationship with us. Nothing is bought in to be flipped.
Bidstream data is not sold, licensed, modelled on, or shared. There is no price at which this changes.
Not approved case by case. Not at all. It is the fastest way to make an exchange worthless to serious buyers.
No exclusivity, no minimum term beyond the notice period, no penalty for running us alongside anyone else.
You get a named person who knows your account and replies the same day. Including the two of us.
There are two of us. You’ll deal with both.
A small team is a disadvantage in most ways and an advantage in exactly one: nothing gets lost between departments, because there aren’t any.
